About Roots: 

Roots initially known as “Project Backspace” is the transform of a bare, cement and largely unoccupied outdoor space at the Family Justice Center (FJC). How Roots came about was considering the time our clients spend indoors reliving their traumatic experiences. FJC imagined an outdoor sanctuary for our clients to escape. Vision:

Roots is a space that will not only foster people to come together to find peace regarding interpersonal violence experiences, but will also inspire people to heal in a safe and creative outdoor atmosphere where clients, their children, partners and staff could gather, play, de-stress and heal.
